TEDDY

Major suckage.  Got the call that Baby's one antibody level is still elevated.  There IS the possibility that it could go back to normal but it's not looking good.

TEDDY

Baby threw up in the car on the way to her appointment.  No temperature etc so no clue as to why.  Just gonna have to watch her today and give her bland foods in case it's a tummy bug.  Good thing I had a change of clothes in the car!  She also refused to smile for her picture! (They take one at each visit)  But she was her usual champ self during the blood draw.  She's gained weight to 33 lbs.  Up 3 in the last 3 months but she'd been at 30 for the 6 months prior.  She also grew an inch!  Up to 37 inches!  No wonder all her clothes look too small all of a sudden.  Glucose was 97 (none fasting) and her A1C was 4.9 so those numbers were great.  Now to just wait 4 to 6 weeks for the antibody results and hope the one positive goes back to negative!

Turns out that one of the three antibodies that indicate the beginnings of the war on the pancreas (type 1 diabetes) IS slightly higher then normal.  At her next appointment in July they will do an  A1C test etc on her along with her normal tests.  It is possible the the level will return to normal and will end up being nothing but we are definitely going to have to keep an eye on her sugars for awhile.  I just hate the idea of having to give my little girl shots etc.
